Incorporated in 1984, Alternative Resources, Inc. (ARI) is an independent consulting firm
providing management, engineering,

economic and
financial advisory services in the fields of
water and wastewater
treatment, solid waste management,
residuals management,

permitting and compliance, and energy production. Services
are offered nationwide.

For public entities, we assist in planning,
implementing and managing major environmental infrastructure programs
and capital projects for water, wastewater and municipal solid waste
projects. We also provide environmental, financial planning and
financial advisory services to municipalities. We are a leader in
assessing and implementing public/private partnerships and in helping
local governments capture the opportunities that might be available
through such partnerships.
For private clients we conduct waste
characterization studies, siting studies, assist in developing
environmental permitting strategies and prepare environmental permits
and environmental impact statements. For banks and underwriters we
prepare technology assessments and third party reviews in support of
project financings for solid waste, water and wastewater programs.
Our professional staff includes engineers,
scientists, planners, and financial and management consultants. Our
engineering skills include mechanical, civil, chemical, and
environmental disciplines. Scientists provide expertise in
meteorology, chemistry and soil science. Planners and financial and management
consultants provide the framework for integrating engineering,
scientific, economic and financial analyses, allowing us to develop
technically sound and financially viable solutions for projects. This
diverse range of skills is brought together on a project team basis to
address client needs.
